Three 1934 grilles at the chrome platers. Left, stage three (final) is fully chromed, the middle nickel plated grille is at the intermediate stage and the right copper plated grille is at the first stage.

The Ford grilles of the 1930s were unique to each model year of the Ford vehicle line and it was surprising to learn that Henry Ford contracted out the manufacture of the 1933 and 1934 grilles to a number of private companies. This became very evident when Chris was investigating and minutely examining a series of original 1934 examples during his re-manufacture process back in 1996.

Well, the 1934 Ford grille has been an enormous success for Chris, sales have topped the 400 mark, with the greatest amount being shipped overseas to the North American Continent. Not being a person to remain idle, Chris has since developed a 1933 Ford grille over the passage of time from 1996 to this present date, this again is a quality item and can be examined through the accompanying photographs when we followed three of these grilles being put through the complexity of the chrome plating process just recently at Classic Chrome Electroplating and Polishing Company in Geelong, Vic.
